Do you ever find yourself using generalities to describe people?

Do you ever find yourself using generalities to describe people? Democrats are all the same. Republicans are all the same. Kids today are lazy. Christians are bigots. Do you think that God looks at us in the same way? The Bible says that God, “…knows the number of hairs on our head.”

I have a pastor friend who always encourages me to put my God-glasses on to see people and circumstances through His eyes. I have found this advice to be quite helpful as it stops me from passing judgment on individuals just because they fall under a group label. We need to get to know people. We need to ask more questions.

We need to seek understanding.  We need to talk less and listen more. We are God’s representatives and ambassadors for Christ. We are the vessels He uses to demonstrate His great love for everyone, not just the people who are like us.
